PackTotal EPR Edition
Navigate the complexities of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations with confidence. PackTotal EPR is a comprehensive software solution designed for both large and small organisations to streamline data recording, management, and reporting for all packaging you supply, use, and discard.
PackTotal EPR builds upon the functionality of PackTotal Essentials and PackTotal PPT by adding the following advanced features.
Key Features and Benefits of PackTotal EPR Edition

Compliance with UK EPR Regulations
Efficiently achieve and maintain compliance with the UK EPR regulations with an ongoing view of your company's waste cost and recycling obligations for the current and previous EPR submission periods. You can be confident any calculations and reports generated by PackTotal will fo the rules specified by HMRC and keep up to date with any regulation changes.
Packaging database to store and maintain all data requirements
The database will allow you to collect and manage all the necessary sustainability and materials data for every component of your product's packaging. This reusable library will gather your required data in one central and secure place so that you are ready when the time comes to complete your EPR submission.
For EPR you must now report all packaging data including the: Packaging activity, Packaging material and weight, packaging type and expected end-of-life waste type.

The data collected and associated evidence to support the submissions must be retained for seven years after the data collection period ends so the database is a convenient way to store this data. For example, you must confirm that the packaging is correctly reported as household or non-household and you must keep appropriate evidence to support these classifications.
Complete calculation of the Extended Producer Responsibility figures and production of the HMRC submission file
PackTotal EPR edition will extract the required information from your packaging component data and calculate your company's EPR figures and produce your HMRC submission file.
For EPR reporting, your business role in the supply chain is crucial as you must submit a separate data submission for EPR packaging activity where you have an obligation.
The data submission will include the following information:
• Packaging activity - how you supplied the packaging eg. Brand Owner
• Packaging type – the type of waste the packaging will become at end of life eg. household or non-household waste
• Packaging class – whether the packaging is primary, secondary, shipments or tertiary packaging
• Packaging Material and weight – each material type must be reported separately and in kg.

Exports to be excluded from EPR reporting figures
Any packaging/products you export are exempt from any fees, and you must not include them in your EPR data reporting so they can be entered into the database as an export so that they are not included in the end EPR calculations.
Recording and categorising of Shipment or eCommerce Packaging
You must now report on any specific shipment and eCommerce packaging your business uses. This type of packaging is also subject to fees under EPR as it typically enters household waste streams. PackTotal will calculate this category of packaging in the correct way to ensure you don't pay for any shipment packaging you're not responsible for.

Self Managed Waste Collections data calculation

There are two elements to Self Managed Waste and PackTotal reporting will include both.
For Self-Managed Organisation waste you must collect and report data about the packaging waste that you have collected on-site across the UK.
For Self Managed Consumer waste you will need to report data about any packaging waste recovered from consumers that you collect through a self-managed recycling scheme. The waste reported may be used to offset the household packaging obligation, reducing the waste management fee.
Nation of Sale recording and calculation to report Nation data
Another necessary EPR reporting requirement is the introduction of 'nation data'. This is information about which nation in the UK packaging has been sold, hired, loaned, gifted or discarded. If you supply packaging to end consumers or business end consumers, you need to report on how much of the packaging you have provided is disposed of in each of the four nations in the UK.
In PackTotal EPR, you can independently create data for 'Waste cost and recycling obligations' and 'Nation Data'. Both these areas of functionality will output the EPR data submission CSV file in the precise format requested by HMRC for loading directly.
Customer Cost Reports
If your imported products are assigned to specific customers, PackTotal can log these imports correctly. This means that PackTotal can provide a breakdown cost of the Plastic Packaging Tax or EPR fees contributed to each customer, allowing you to apportion these costs accordingly.
Validate Data Accuracy
PackTotal EPR will allow you to enter all the data required for EPR and provide detailed Missing Data reports to identify any products or components with incomplete EPR data. Any data that needs to be completed will be highlighted in the EPR Missing Data report so you can visualise your missing data immediately. Once the data is finalised as completed, PackTotal EPR will calculate the values for the EPR return or the Nation of Sale Calculations.
Customisable UI Setup
Companies can install the software with pre-loaded packaging industry information in the data drop-down options, or these can be configured and set up with your information to minimise time, effort and typing in data entry.
Integrates with other software systems
Ability to add custom integrations into other systems for smooth and seamless workflow.
Customised Reports
Reports are customisable, allowing you to create the information you need. Alternatively, let us know what reports you need, and we can work with you to design your required format.
Extended Producer Responsibility Data Management with PackTotal
Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations present unique challenges, requiring obligated producers to take on greater responsibility for the lifecycle of their packaging.
Organisations will now have to collect and report detailed information on the packaging they produce and how the waste will be managed.
PackTotal will help streamline your reporting processes, reducing the burden of manual data collection and reporting to meet your compliance reporting obligations.
Our innovative software collects all the necessary sustainability and materials data for every component of your product's packaging so that you can easily produce EPR data submissions to DEFRA or third parties and demonstrate that you have fulfilled your obligations under the EPR program.
