Before implementing PackTotal, our internal process for calculating Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) was outdated and inefficient. We relied solely on spreadsheets, and with over 2,000 SKUs, the task of collating and reconciling data for EPR submissions was both time-consuming and complex. We found PackTotal in early 2024, with a web article that helpfully unpacked some of the confusions surrounding EPR. I’d been working on no fewer than 50 different Excel files, scattered between different suppliers, with a few thousand different SKUs represented between them. Trying to achieve the granularity we needed for the EA was proving to be an impossibility, and speaking with the team at PackTotal was a bit of a relief!

With their help, we had a full database up and running within 3 months, and were able to produce the necessary reports. The system is straightforward but sophisticated, and the team helped enormously with custom requests and generalisations to help make the reports as accurate as possible.
